For this topic, the school has arranged us to attend the Shishedo workshop. During the 3 hours long workshop, we were taught how to keep our face clean, how to put on makeup and also learn about the various skin types we might have. I am able to relate what I have learnt to my daily life. I am particular about my skin thus I put in a lot of effort to protect and care for it. Through this workshop, I am please to know that the daily skin care routines I have been carrying out these years are actually correct. As mentioned earlier, going through the various skin types with the class enable me to know that I am actually have combination skin. With this knowledge, I am able to change the facial products I am using to a more suitable one. However during the part where we were taught how to put on makeup by the instructors, I feel that the some steps they taught were actually redundant. For example, the application of powder and foundation. This can be reduced to one step by just using a 2-way cake foundation. Not only is it faster and more convenient, the result of the 2-way cake foundation on the face would seem lesser heavy too.
Another point I disagree with the instructors was “People with hidden eyelids , do not even bother applying eyeliner because it will not show”. I strongly disagree with this statement as what they have said is not true! I am one of the unfortunate girls with hidden eyelids but I still apply eyeliner and it does show and make a difference as it will make the lash line thicken and fuller.
Overall, the Shishedo workshop was useful and it also allows me to learn more about applying makeup and caring for the skin. And it would be better if everyone can be involved during the hands on practical so that everyone can get a feel of applying of makeup in the correct way.
The lecture for this topic was interesting too. The part that caught my attention the most would be the facts on Skin Care. This particular part of the topic changed my views on several things and also gave me additional knowledge on skin care.
