This lecture is all about dressing appropriately and professionally so as to give the correct first impressions to other people. In addition, the lecture also covers on what female and male such wear and groom themselves. I have learnt a lot from this lecture as there are many things I am not aware of in order to dress well so as to give the correct impression to others. From the lecture, I am able to dress more professionally and avoid things that are taught during the lecture for BESE tutorial and interview. I feel that this lecture is useful as it not only teaches us what the ladies should wear but also the opposite gender. This way I can not only make myself look better but also help my father or boyfriend dress better for work or for presentations.However I feel that the criteria of dressing for ladies can be quite troublesome as alterations are needed to be done on the blazers and skirt if it is bought from retail stores. At first I did though of altering my blazer sleeves as it did not meet the criteria of my tutor and the lecture note but I learn how to turn things around and not wear long sleeved shirts so that altering of the sleeves is not necessary.
One thing I enjoyed in this topic was the task given to identify and give examples of the various dress codes for ladies and gentlemen. Initially, it was difficult to identify the many different dress codes as they were all similar thus after the tutor’s explanations I then understand that the dress codes are different. Even though it is not relevant to me right now as I am not working but I am sure that this knowledge would be useful in the future.
